22. VENTING
With
the warmth of HPS lamps it is necessary to use an air
pump and an oscillating fan. With the air pump the
excess of warmth and moisture can be taken out of the
plantation while the fan for instance can help
preventing bud rot. The air pump needs to be connected
with a thermostat that controls the pump. But be aware,
the air pump should NEVER completely stop pumping
because right away the smell of weed will spread in the
neighbourhood. Normally warm air is taken out close to
the ceiling while cold air is getting in near the floor.
The air inlet does not need a pump and should be far
away from the air outlet. Both, air inlet and outlet,
should have the same diameter to not diminish the
capacity of the air pump. See for more info chapter 17
and 23.
