8. Germination 1
The best result you will get if you grow your seeds the natural way by
planting them in the earth and not use cotton, tissues,
rock wool or other materials. By doing so, you will have
the highest percentage of germination and you will also
not risk damaging the freshly germinated seeds.
Plant your
seeds like this:
1) Wet the soil.
2) Make little holes of about 1 cm deep.
3) Put one seed in each hole.
4) Close the hole.
High quality seeds (when they are big, dark and
fresh) can afford to wait until the right moment is
there to germinate. So, it is important to create the
perfect circumstances, warm and wet. To make this
happen, the seeds need to be planted on a spot where the
sun can really warm the soil. If circumstances are not
right, the seeds will probably germinate at a later
point in time. Furthermore, it is also important not to
bury the seeds too deep otherwise they will never make
it to the surface.
Normally
the seeds germinate within 2 - 5 days. If there is no
result within 10 days the seeds can be still dormant or
old. In case seeds are very fresh it can be that they
are still dormant (sleeping). When this is true, you can
leave them and they will germinate within about four
month. If the seeds are just old, nothing will happen
and you can consider the seeds as lost.
