COFFEESHOP
POLICY.
In
spite of the fact that the selling of soft drugs in the
Netherlands is forbidden, a number of coffeeshops is
nevertheless tolerated. There will be no action taken
against these coffeeshops if they operate according the
set of rules of the Public Prosecution Service. These rules
are: 1) no publicity; 2) no
selling of hard drugs; 3) no selling to or presence of
people under 18; 4) no nuisance; 5) at the most 5 grams
per day per person can be sold; 6) a stock of only 500
grams is allowed in the shop. Beside
these rules of the Public Prosecution Service additional
conditions can be added as the municipalities sees
appropriate.
POLICY CANNABIS POSSESSION.
Against
a possession of maximum 5 grams the justice department
will not take any measurements. This is considered as a
stock which serves for personal use. With quantities
between 5 and 30 grams action will be taken at discovery.
But detection of this kind of quantities has no priority.
POLICY CULTIVATION CANNABIS.
At
cultivation of less than 5 plants without technical
appliances (no lamps etc.) no legal action will be taken
but the used materials will be confiscated. Presence of
more than 5 plants is considered as commercial cultivation.
The police department will actively search for these
commercial growers. |
